We are excited to share the results of our selection process for a free lab-scale fermentation trial, launched as part of the COPILOT project under the CBE JU framework.
The number and quality of submissions exceeded our expectations and confirmed the incredible potential and creativity within the biotech research and startup community. We were truly inspired by the originality, dedication, and vision shown in every proposal.
After carefully reviewing all applications, Biosphere is pleased to announce the selected project that will receive full support to test and scale its innovative biotech process.
The selected project is:
“BEACON”, a precision fermentation project involving recombinant yeasts for the production of a specific terpenoid compound for cosmetic applications.

In the coming days, we’ll begin working closely with the winning team to launch the fermentation trial, for exploring the potential of the industrial scale-up. We aim to make this not just a technical test, but a valuable growth and learning experience.
