Biosphere is pleased to announce a new initiative designed to accelerate innovation in the biotechnology sector by offering a free laboratory-scale fermentation trial.
This programme is specifically aimed to support the development of new ideas and help bridge the gap between research and development of biotech processes.
The initiative is focused on white biotechnology, including applications in green chemistry, food and feed, agritech, materials, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals.
Through this initiative, Biosphere seeks to foster the development of novel precision fermentation technologies that have the potentiality to be scaled for industrial applications.
The free fermentation trial will be awarded to one selected project through a competitive application process devoted to young researchers and startuppers who are fighting for demonstrate the scalability of their innovative biotech processes, identifying key bottlenecks and challenges that may arise during a controlled fermentation trial.
The program is part of the COPILOT project, a European-funded initiative under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), aimed at supporting sustainable and circular bio-based solutions. The COPILOT project, funded by the European Union, plays a crucial role in advancing the development and adoption of circular economy practices across the biotech sector.
More details and application guidelines can be found in the documentation attached below.
