The Olon Group, Biosphere and the Biocatalysis Group of the Van't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS-Biocat) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) announce the creation of an international network of scientific excellence, bringing together industrial and academic expertise in the field of biocatalysis and industrial biotechnology.
The research will be focused on the identification of the most effective enzymes to be used as biocatalysts for specific chemical reactions and on the scaling up of the technology to industrial levels.
In line with its mission to use biotechnology to innovate industrial processes, Biosphere will contribute to the development and scale-up of alternative production schemes that will be both environmentally and economically sustainable.
